Pride of the Nations!!!
Summer Intern Project

During the Summer of 2025 EYGC employed four Summer Interns, in partnership with Treetops Collective.

Our Interns worked with Bailee Dunham a Hope College Art Major to design this Hoodie.

Our Interns also learned how to make a resume, had real and mock interviews, as well as discussing there past and how certain things have affected them and decided that they wanted to incorporate a bit of there story in there creation. See more details below.

Our Summer Club would like to share their favorite game with you all!

Playing the Game Horo: The game Horo is a favorite of ours that we played in both Burundi, DRC, and Tanzania and we will like to share it with you today. The objective, or the point of the game, is to remove all the shoes from the middle before the other team gets you out, (hits you with the ball). The material you need for the game are: One ball everyone's shoes put in the middle (the more people the better) Two teams of a minimum of two people per team (more people play the longer and more enjoyable the game) To start one player from team one is in the middle with all the shoes, and then team two has one player on either side, if team two has more players they spread out to help collect the ball, Team two starts with the ball and tosses it between themselves across the middle twice before team one starts. Team one in the middle with all the shoes will try to move each one of the shoes from the middle pile, one at a time, before being hit with the ball from team two. Team one can try to catch the ball, and throw it as far as you can. Another way to avoid being hit by the ball from team two is to dodge it. If team one player gets hit with the ball from team two before they have touched all the shoes then that team one player is out, another team member from team one fills in, once all of team one is out then teams switch roles. Round one is over and now it's team two's turn to be in the middle. Then you stop when you are all tired!
