Kenya Scholarship Program

See what U-TV has to say about EYGC in Kenya!!!

EYGC has sponsored High School students for three full school years. We started with 3 students and have grown to as many as 50 students. In 2024 we currently sponsor 35 Students, 16 male and 19 female. 10 of these students are total orphans.  For our students who are orphans, EYGC also provides school supplies, Transportation and housing during school holidays if needed.

In Kenya, education past 8th grade is not free. Families must pay anywhere from $200 - $700 a year for their teens' education. This may seem small to Americans but when living in rural Kenya a family is very lucky to make $10 a day.

All EYGC Scholarship students are either orphans and/or come from homes that cannot pay anything for further education. Meaning that if these students didn't get help they would never achieve past an 8th grade education.

Each EYGC student has a mentor and is invited to attend meals and meetings with their fellow scholarship students while on school breaks. This helps EYGC create a loving community and family for all of our past and current students. Community in Kenya is probably the second most important thing, first is education.

In December of 2024 the majority of our High School students will be graduating. EYGC will need to decide if we continue to follow our students thru to Trade Schools, University and or businesses or if we bring in new high school students to sponsor. We hope and Pray that God will guide us in this decision as well as allow our US team to travel to Ebwicha, December 2024 so that we may celebrate Graduation with our community.

Thank you from the students
