Kenya Scholarship Program

EYGC has sponsored High School students for three school years. We started with 3 students and have grown to as many as 50 students. We currently have 42.

In Kenya, education past 8th grade is not free. Families must pay anywhere from $200 - $700 a year for their teens' education. This may seem small to Americans but when living in rural Kenya a family is very lucky to make $10 a day.

All EYGC Scholarship students are either orphans and/or come from homes that cannot pay anything for further education. Meaning that if these students didn't get help they would never achieve past an 8th grade education.

Each EYGC student has a mentor and is invited to attend meals and meetings with their fellow scholarship students while on school breaks.

Thank you from the students
